Concentrated networking

I’ve just been at the BNI Big Breakfast in the Hurlingham club this morning and what a meeting that was. Just over 2 hours of serious networking, visiting as many trade stands as you needed to (not as many as possible, just as necessary) and making the right contacts to follow up with later.

Taking advantage of remote networking

We are all being delayed/affected/irritated by the snow this week. It is evidently a fact of life that, in Britain, especially London and the South East, our public transport will not be able to effectively deal with the snow for the foreseeable future.

The headlines across the newspapers all report doom and gloom – the ineffectiveness of our transport system, the devastating effects to the retail industry (because shoppers cannot physically get to Oxford Street) and the billions that will be lost each day because commuters cannot get to work.

A colleague of mine has recently been targeted through her LinkedIn profile by a scammer. Social media sites are starting to target businesses more and more as a way of garnering new business, so now what was once the preserve of the email account has been rapidly growing on the social media networks over the last five years. So why is it still a problem?
